IPL7: RR Vs SRH 18/04/2014 - Results, Review and Statistical Highlights

Admit it, the one team you cannot hate in any Indian Premier League T20 match is Rajasthan Royals.  If you are one of the exception, I guess you are not a Rahul Dravid fan.  The reason why i stress that is because, this is one of the few teams that possesses a good sporting spirit which was led beautifully by Rahul Dravid last season.  However, Things are different for the Royals this year with Shane Watson their captain and Rahul Dravid as one of their mentors.

CricketSunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand have arguably the world's best bowler on their side - Dale Steyn.  Just like the 6th edition of the Indian Premier league, the Shikar Dhawan led team struggled to make a decent score ending up at around 130 but came back well while bowling.  They Choked the Royals until their last breath but Stuart Binny single handedly helped them towards a victory.  If not for Stuart Binny's innings, The Royals might have lost the match as no one at the other end looked comfortable especially against the swing of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Both the teams have underlying issues with their batting as well as bowling and need to look at themselves deep within as i still can't figure out which team deserved to win yesterday.  There is also a chance both the teams are pretty strong but that is something we will know when we see them face off other opponents.

Notable Performances

* Shikar Dhawan and David Warner's 30 Plus score helping the SRH towards a target of 133.

* Dhawal Kulkarni, Kane Richardson and Rajat Bhatia's two wickets.

* Stuart Binny's 48 Not Out helping the Rajasthan Royals towards a 4 wicket win.

* Dale Steyn and Amit Mishra's two wickets.

* Bhuvneshwar Kumar's exceptional swing bowling during the start of the RR innings.
